Melyssa Ford continues to prove that she’s more than a big butt and smile.
The former video vixen turned actress, turned-real estate agent, turned reality TV star is gearing up to bring her talents (and body of course) to the stage in the upcoming musical comedy, For Vixens Who’ve Considered Homicide When the Video Was Too Much.
Written by Obie Award-winning playwright and actor J. Kyle Manzay, and produced by Love and Hip Hop star Yandy Smith, For Vixens is a satirical “story of the glamorously raw lifestyle, politics, scandals and internal struggles one young woman encounters while [on] her aspiring journey to becoming a music video vixen.”
“Not only does this theatrical experience feel like my most tangible professional endeavor, it has also provided an overwhelming sense of creative validation within me. I am proud of this work,” says Ford, who helped conceptualize the show alongside Manzay.
Ford who is currently starring in the Bravo reality show Blood, Sweat and Heels, began her career as a video vixen in 1997. She quickly became an in-demand vixen and household name, starring in the music videos of a slew of artists including Jay-Z, R. Kelly, Usher, and Alicia Keys.
For Vixens Who’ve Considered Homicide When the Video Was Too Much premieres in New York City on August 18 and will run until August 24.
