About the Show
The African American community has a rich spoken word history and Centric’s Lyric Cafe celebrates this art form. The Centric original series is the only BET Networks Spoken-word series and has a strong BET and Centric viewership. It features some of today’s top wordsmiths displaying their verbal agility. Back for another season, Lyric Cafe is a six-episode series, with an hour-long “best of” show, and music special. The series fuses the spirit of the Cotton Club, the essence of the juke joint, and the arousing concert fee; effortlessly merging spoken word with live music.
