Known for his envelope-pushing, high energy music, Deitrick Haddon has been making waves in Gospel since he first came on this scene in the '90s.
With a mission of taking gospel beyond the church walls and beyond music, Deitrick has infused his musical influences (like Michael Jackson, Prince, and more) with the his love for gospel. In 2010, his vision of a multi-media ministry came true with the release of his first movie, Deitrick Haddon's Blessed & Cursed (release on Tyscot Film) to both fan and critical acclaim. It didn't stop there. He saw his first theatrical role in Deitrick Haddon's A Beautiful Soul (Click HERE to see Trailer). He also was a pastor at beautiful church in Detroit, Mi. It seemed like things were going in the right direction.
Yet in 2013, his personal life, his ministry, and image took a serious hit.
After over a decade, Deitrick and his wife, Damita announced their divorce, he stepped down from his Pastor position and moved across the country.
Shortly after his public personae suffered a blow when it was discovered that he fathered a child out-of-wedlock and the he was engaged to be married to the child's mother. His final album with the label that he's been a part of for years, didn't perform well either.
Not long after, he joined the cast of the controversial show, Preachers of LA which further polarized his fans.
But what a difference a year makes! In 2014, it appears that things are starting to change for the better. The first season of 'Preachers' was so successful that Oxygen renewed the show for a 2nd season. In addition to that the network also greenlighted a second show with Deitrick has the star "Fix My Choir".
Musically, his career has rebounded as well. Deitrick just enjoyed a Billboard-charting debut with his choir, LXW (League of Xtraordinary Worshippers).
