  • Missed the 2009 Soul Train Awards? Get caught up with the Top 10 moments from the evening.
  • Atlanta native Keri Hilson not only had an outstanding performance but she took home the award for Best New Artist.
  • The co-hosts of the Soul Train Awards, Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson put their vocal skills to use during the show’s introduction. The duo belted out their version of Peaches & Herb’s, “Reunited.”
  • For over 30 years, Chaka Khan has been a mainstay in the R&B music scene. She was honored for her accomplishments with Rufus and for her solo career at the Soul Train Awards.
  • In honor of Motown Records the Soul Train Awards paid homage by arranging a medley of classic Motown songs. Taraji P. Henson made a very memorable appearance as a member of the Supremes.
  • Do you remember the Soul Train Scramble? The classic game from the legendary show made its return at the Soul Train Awards. Unfortunately, host Taraji P. Henson wasn’t able to figure out it was Diana Ross.
  • The 2009 Soul Train Awards kicked off with a bang as Toni Braxton and Trey Songz did more than just share a song. The two caught everyone by surprise with a smooch at the end of their performance.
  • Pointing out to the crowd that he’s 15 years clean and sober and cancer free, Charlie Wilson gave a moving speech after he was honored at the Soul Train Awards.
  • Everyone from Kandi Burruss to K-CI & JoJo took part in the tribute to Charlie Wilson, belting out a wide range of hits from his days as lead singer of the Gap Band.
  • Angie Stone and a slew of other ladies brought the house down at end the Soul Train Awards as they paid honor to R&B legend Chaka Khan. Stone and Khan broke out into a duet while performing “Ain’t Nobody.”
