The former television judge was charged with five counts of contempt of court

Judge Joe Brown found himself on the other side of the law on Monday after being arrested and charged with five counts of contempt of court in Tennessee.

Shelby County Juvenile Court officials said the former television judge was sentenced to five days behind bars after causing a ruckus in a courtroom hearing. Brown reportedly became verbally abusive and was warned several times to quiet down.

According to TMZ, he was said to be in court to represent a client in a child support case, although he was turned away by court staff because they had no record of the case.

Brown is currently running to be the top prosecutor in Shelby County.
