Authorities say they have footage of the assault, but have yet to release the video

Police say they have yet-to-be-released footage of Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice knocking his fiancée unconscious during their confrontation in Atlantic City, N.J. earlier this month.

A source revealed the news to Sports Illustrated on Thursday (Feb. 20) after video went viral this week showing the NFL player dragging an unresponsive Janay Palmer out of an elevator at the Revel Casino. He is shown pulling her out into a hallway before being approached by another man, likely a security guard, in which he begins pacing back and forth.

Both Rice and Palmer were arrested early Saturday morning on simple assault charges and released on a summons. The couple declined medical attention and didn't report any injuries.

In the unreleased video, authorities say Rice and Palmer "struck each other with their hands," yet Rice knocked Palmer unconscious.

Rice's attorney Michael Diamondstein calls the incident a "very minor physical altercation" and a "misunderstanding."

Neither Rice nor his attorney would comment about the video.
