The media maven becomes the first talk show host to give back to the museum

In an effort to solidify her place in history, Wendy Williams is taking the necessary steps to make sure her mark on media and entertainment will be remembered for years to come.

On Friday, the "BEING" star donated several personal items to the Smithsonian National Museum of American History during a segment on her talk show.

The gifts included her sparkling pink microphone, the dress and shoes she wore for the show's first photo shoot, a wig and wig head, a script from her 500th episode and a light-up "diva fan" with her catchphrase "How you doin'?"

Dwight Blocker Bowers
, curator of the entertainment collection of the museum, confirmed that Williams is the first talk show host to donate items to his division.

"The Wendy Williams Show" is currently in its fifth season.

Catch Wendy Williams in an all-new season of "BEING," premiering Saturday (Feb. 15) at 9 p.m. EST on Centric!
