50 has never looked so good

Michelle Obama is 50, fabulous and an official member of AARP.

Friday marked a milestone for the First Lady who celebrated a half century well-lived as a wife, mother, role model and dynamic woman with a wardrobe to die for. Michelle took to Twitter to express her joy over turning the big 5-0 by showing her followers her American Association of Retired Persons membership card.

"Excited to join Barack in the 50+ club today… check out my @AARP card! –mo," she captioned the photo. Michelle-- who revealed she would "never say never" to plastic surgery-- recently told PEOPLE magazine that she still feels young and vibrant and is not hung up on her age.

"I don’t feel that much differently than I did when I was younger," she said. "What I hear is that age is a number, it’s a state of mind."

On Saturday (Jan. 18), the FLOTUS will let loose at her birthday event at the White House titled "Snacks & Sips & Dancing & Dessert." Guests have already been advised to eat before they come, wear comfortable shoes and practice their dance moves.
