Jamie Foxx Hosts Trayvon Martin's Family At Charity Fundraiser

Jamie Foxx has been consistent in his public support of Trayvon Martin and his family. The singer/actor wore a t-shirt donning Trayvon’s face to the 2013 MTV Movie Awards and the BET Awards making a huge statement--demanding justice for the slain teen.

Over the weekend Foxx took his celebrity influence to the next level by organizing a celebrity fundraiser to raise money for the Trayvon Martin foundation. Foxx’s celebrity friends Tank, Larenz Tate, Russell Simmons, Marques Houston, Harry Belafonte and Congresswoman Maxine Waters all came out to support the cause.

Trayvon’s parents Sabrina Fulton and Tracy Martin were also in attendance. From the pictures that surfaced on Instagram it appears like the Martins were presented with a large framed photograph of their son in his gray hoodie.

Tyrese
posted a sincere message on Instagram after the event. “A powerful gathering of Influence organized by @iamjamiefoxx this brother and friend raised a lot of money on behalf of the Trayvon Martin foundation….I showed up cause I’m uncomfortable with injustice .. Jamie Foxx I’m very proud of you and HOW you’re using your influence.”

Tank also had some kind words about Foxx’s fundraiser. “We ALL showed up to support the Trayvon Martin Foundation event that @iamjamiefoxx put together! Let’s keep fighting and believing! The kids are all that matter.”
