Lee Thompson Young Dead at 29

Lee Thompson Young, best known for his role on the Disney Channel's The Famous Jett Jackson, has reportedly died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was 29.

“It is with great sadness that I announce that Lee Thompson Young tragically took his own life this morning," said Young’s longtime manager Jonathan Baruch.

“Lee was more than just a brilliant young actor, he was a wonderful and gentle soul who will be truly missed. We ask that you please respect the privacy of his family and friends as this very difficult time.”

According to TMZ, the actor was found by his landlord in his Los Angeles home Monday morning (Aug. 19) after failing to show up to set on TNT's Rizzoli & Isles.

Young played the title character on the children's television series for three seasons as a teenage actor on a fictional TV show-within-a-show called Silverstone. His acting credits also include Friday Night Lights, Scrubs, Lincoln Heights, Smallville and more.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Young's family during this difficult time.
