President Obama Will Speak On Anniversary Of 'March On Washington'

President Barack Obama is set to speak at the Let Freedom Ring ceremony later this month in honor of the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s historic "I Have A Dream Speech."

On Wednesday, the White House confirmed news that the speech will take place on the Lincoln Memorial steps on Aug. 28.

The event will mark exactly 50 years since King led approximately 250,000 individuals to the National Mall in a march for jobs, equality and freedom-- one of the biggest political rallies for human rights in U.S. history.

His "I Have A Dream" speech was delivered on the same steps where Obama is set to speak.

With the recent setback of the Voting Rights Act and the senseless death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, the speech couldn't have come at a better time.
