There was nothing "beautiful" about Mariah Carey's recent visit to a New York hospital after dislocating her shoulder on set of her new video.
A representative for the singer said Carey was admitted late Sunday night after injuring her shoulder while shooting the visual to the remix version of "#Beautiful," featuring Young Jezzy. The video was being directed by husband Nick Cannon.
"Dislocated my shoulder on the remix video with Jeezy, sporting a very fashionable sling for the next couple of weeks" Carey tweeted Tuesday.
Cannon made an appearance on NBC's Today to explain the unfortunate accident.
"Not only did she dislocate her shoulder, she actually cracked a rib and she chipped her shoulder bone," he said. "She was in this nice, beautiful gown, heels on and everything, and was kind of on this platform and reached and slipped and fell on her whole side."
But the show must go on.
After doctors reset her shoulder, Carey was said to be doing "fine." She is still expected to perform with the New York Philharmonic at the 2013 MLB All-Star Charity Concert in Central Park on Saturday. Proceeds will benefit Superstorm Sandy victims.
