The power of Beyoncé is real indeed.
Since the premiere of her visual album Lemonade, sales of actual lemonade are climbing around the country.
This surprising industry revelation was pointed out by fresh juice industry expert Natalie Sexton, who is the director of marketing at Natalie’s Orchid Island Juice Company. Sexton noted that since the release of Queen Bey's album, the company has doubled its sales of natural lemonade, lemonade tea and strawberry lemonade.
“People are drinking lemonade and posting pictures with #Beyoncé,” Sexton told to The Huffington Post. “You can’t drink lemonade these days without thinking of her.”
It's worth noting that rising lemonade sales may not totally be due to Beyoncé's much-talked about project. It could also be attributed to rising temperatures. Still Matt Barry, a research associate at Euromonitor International, tells HuffPost that he thinks the superstar singer's royal influence could save the lemonade industry.
“Beyoncé has done it before, and she could do it again,“ he said.
Even Matt McLean, owner of Uncle Matt’s juice, admits he's seen a significant rise in his sales.
“Sales are increasing. We’re up about 20 percent,” he said. “I don’t know if that’s due to Beyoncé or the heat. Maybe it’s Beyoncé. We’d send her some free lemonade — it’s organic!”
