The Roots Frontman Calls On Gladys Knight & Nick Cannon For Look Back At The Beloved Show

Restoration Rocks! talent Questlove is honoring the legacy of Soul Train with a brand new coffee table read highlighting the celebrated music program.

Soul Train: The Music, Dance and Style of a Generation (HarperCollins) will detail the history of the show that launched the careers of big-named stars such as Stevie Wonder, Tina Turner, Aretha Franklin, The Jackson 5, Whitney Houston and others. The book, filled with more than 350 photos of memorable episodes, will also reflect on the life of the late, great Don Cornelius.

The self-proclaimed music snob called on the incomparable Gladys Knight to pen the foreword and Nick Cannon for the preface. As previously reported, Cannon is bringing the show back through his NCredible Entertainment.

Soul Train: The Music, Dance, and Style of a Generation will hit book shelves Oct. 22.
