Before there was Guy, Jodeci, H-Town, Dru Hill, and Jagged Edge---there was Lustacy. Throughout the early 90s, the Harlem based trio dominated the radiowaves with their hits "Rump Buster," "Orgy & Bess," "Sweet, Sweet Gyrations," and their chart-topping Billboard R&B single, "I Spank It, You Yank It." Over a decade since calling it quits---reportedly over a woman---Anthony Adonis, Deonte, and Crisco have reunited and are now setting the stage for the mother of all comebacks with a performance at this year's Soul Train Awards.
"When we we came out, ain't no one was doing the shit that we was doing man," says the group's frontman Anthony Adonis. "We started this whole sensual, sexual thug thing."
While their claims on R&B supremacy are questionable to most, all of the fellas maintain that they were and are in many ways trailblazers for other successful singing groups. "Jodeci, H-Town, Jagged Edge...none of them would have existed if it wasn't for us," said Deonte, the trio's resident bass-singing eye candy.
With a new album in the works, Lustacy will be releasing their highly anticipated comeback single, "Burn Rubbers," which they will perform at this year's Soul Train Awards hosted by , Anthony Anderson premiering Sunday, December 1 at 8P/7C on Centric and BET.
Encore presentation December 14th at 7P/6C on Centric.
