Can't seem to find Mr. Right? Maybe you're looking in all the wrong places

If you’re tired of being single and can’t seem to figure out why you’re not laid up with the man of your dreams, maybe it’s because you’re looking for love in all the wrong places.

As the old adage goes, if you want something you never had you have to do something you’ve never done; and maybe that something means packing up your bags and relocating. To be clear, we don’t recommend anyone changes their zip code in the name of love. If, however, moving is on your agenda in the near future, why not take into account a city’s romance barometer?

THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH ADMITTING YOU WANT LOVE

Rather than sticking to your dull and mundane surroundings, consider switching things up and exploring places around the country where the economy is booming and the dating scene is in abundance. If this sounds like something you’re open to, let us guide you to some of the sexiest cities for singles to find love--or lust (whichever you prefer).

New York City
- Contrary to popular belief that the Big Apple is overrated, New York is very much still a happening city. It’s the “city that never sleeps,” which means you’ll never run out of options in the social scene. Not to mention, NYC oozes with culture and fun. From museums like the Museum of Modern Arts to tons of day brunches all year-round, you’re sure to find quite the umber of potential dating candidates. NYC is also a hotspot for Black professionals. Neighborhoods like Bed-Stuy and Williamsburg in Brooklyn, and even Harlem, are filled with attractive and established men. Hey you never know: you just may bag an attorney, or at the very least a paid banker. You may not get much bang for your buck living-wise (rent is too damn high), but at least you’ll have bae to keep you warm at night.

Washington, D.C.
- Though Chocolate City has seen its vanilla additions, it remains a trendy destination for Black sophisticates. Considered the “New” New York City by some, D.C. contains an equally popular nightlife scene, more affordable living (compared to the Big Apple) and a generally more laid back vibe. If you have aspirations of becoming the next Michelle Obama (read: politician’s wife), Washington is most certainly your best bet. The city is crawling with congressional aides building their careers to become the next breakout political star. Just make sure your resume is on point.

Las Vegas
- If you’re the party animal type, Las Vegas is your spot. A destination where everyone seems to be on vacation, there’s never a dull moment. While we don’t necessarily recommend this city for love, it’s certainly the place to be if you’re looking for lust. They don’t call it Sin City for nothing. Just don’t get too wasted--you may just wake up to discover you eloped with a complete stranger. Did we mention the rent is cheap?

Miami
- This is a no brainer. The perfect weather attracts an array of sexy people just looking for an excuse to take off their clothes. It’s known as “Naked City” for crying out loud. If you can’t find the man of your dreams here, we’re not sure you’ll find him anywhere. Okay maybe we’re exaggerating. But seriously, if you play your cards right your chances could go up 1,000 notches in Miami. So toss your winter coat in the trash, bust out that bikini and go get ‘em.

New Orleans -
There’s more to New Orleans than Mardi Gras. While most people ignore the city throughout the rest of the calendar year, the city is actually quite exotic and the party never stops. Bourbon Street isn’t just a hotspot on Fat Tuesday. One night touring the street’s long strip of bars could result in you meeting the love of your life. Even Solange relocated from Brooklyn to the N.O., moving her son and now husband. Though she says it was to keep her son, Juelz, humble and in a school where he can be with “normal” kids, we’re sure it also had something to do with New Orleans’ alluring, exoctic appeal.

Wherever you choose to go, never give up on love. It may just be around the corner.
