If you’re not feeling the national chill, why not travel somewhere warm instead?

Unless you’ve been living under a rock (or in Florida), you know that it’s freezing throughout most of the country. With the nation experiencing record lows of chilling temperatures, it’s easy to fantasize about being far away on a beach, sipping on a cool drink underneath the sun.

So what’s stopping you? Just because the weather may suck where you are, it doesn’t mean you have to endure it. Why not book a flight and have a much-needed getaway from the snow and cold wind chills? Trade in those boots for a pair of sandals and enjoy someplace warm and tranquil. Whether you’re in the Caribbean or right in the U.S., there are a variety of hot spots where you can go to not feel like you’re stuck in the North Pole. If you’re in need of a little direction, Centric has six places that have your name written all over it.

If you’re looking for a fun location where you can take the entire family, Florida’s your place. Not only do you not have to go far (and you save money on flight tickets), but there’s plenty to do. You can go to Orlando for a little amusement park fun at Walt Disney World, relish in the vibrant cities of Miami and Fort Lauderdale, or enjoy the states own Caribbean islands in Florida Keys.

Puerto Rico

If you want a little Spanish flare without leaving U.S. territory, Puerto Rico is your best bet. Not only is the island have a ton of history, but it’s cobbled streets and rich, ancient look provides a serene throwback appeal. The food and drinks are authentic and the people are more than friendly. You can salsa to the wee hours of the morning or, if you prefer a more laidback vacation, imagine taking a swig of pina colada while looking out onto the shores of Ocean Park or Luquillo beach.

The Bahamas encapsulates the perfect vaca. Clear, beautiful water, giant casinos, ritzy dining and plenty of culture. With over 700 islands, you’ll be quite impressed with the beaches and warm water. You may like it so much that you’ll never want to come back home to the States.

Though it’s developed a little bit of a bad reputation for being a party city, where 20-somethings like to go get wasted and have the time of their lives, Cancun is quite breathtaking. Here, you’ll find all-inclusive luxury hotels and a variety of restaurants. You can go snorkeling, check out preserved Mayan ruins and other historic sites.

Hawaii’s white-red-and-black sand beaches has easily earned its “best beach” title. Aside from its beauty, it has the perfect weather climate, it’s family friendly and it’s pure relaxation. You can watch the whales and dolphins jumping in the air, swim with sea turtles or gaze into the romantic night sky by volcano. There’s certainly a reason why President Barack Obama loves to take his family there on vacation. Television doesn’t begin to capture its beauty and essence.

Costa Rica

Costa Rica is just as safe and convenient (about two and half hours from Miami) as it is gorgeous. An ecological oasis, Costa Rica is where you’ll be able to see monkeys in the rainforest, turtles nesting and beautiful butterflies. Animal life aside, you’ll be amazed by its allure. In many ways it’s the ultimate, affordable tropical vacation.
