If there are two things we all love it’s food and sex, and turns out they actually go hand-in-hand. For those looking for ways to bring the spark back into their love life, incorporating certain foods can do wonders.

Whether practical or interactive, the right foods can enhance the sexual experience in ways you wouldn’t believe. Not to mention, some are scientifically backed up by doctors. So if you’re looking for fun and edible ways to turn up the heat in your bedroom a notch or two, check out our list of consumable delights that are as valuable as they are tasty.

TECH APPS THAT CAN SPICE UP YOUR SEX LIFE

Watermelon -
It looks like Beyonce was onto something when she shouted out this delectable fruit in her hit song “Drunk In Love.” Not only is it low in calories, but it’s also high in libido-boosting phytonutrients. A 2008 study at Texas A&M University suggested that watermelon has a “viagra-effect.” The lycopene, citrulline, and beta-carotene found in watermelon may help relax blood vessels, and provide a natural enhancement for revving up your sex drive.

Chocolate -
There’s a reason why chocolate is often used to market romance hopefuls during the Valentine’s Day holiday. Dark chocolate in particular has long been considered an aphrodisiac. High in fat and sugar content, chocolate’s often sinful, yet oh so delicious taste gives off a sense of “naughty” behavior. It can also cause endorphin, sort of like a rush of sorts. Chocolate also contains amino acids that produce serotonin, which is associated with feelings of being relaxed and satisfied. So bust out a box of chocolate pleasures and let the festivities begin!

Chili Peppers -
Now this is how you turn up the heat. Spicy foods like chili peppers boosts the libido, which is essentially one’s sexual drive. Why? They cause a sweating reaction. Spicy foods get the blood flowing, which increases an arousal mechanism that get you all hot and bothered in the best way. While it may not be the most ideal thing to eat in the bedroom or romantic dinner, experts recommend sprinkling crushed chili flakes on your meal. Just don’t go overboard or you’ll be spending the night scrounging for water rather than helping to set the mood.

Strawberries -
The color red has been proven to turn me on--why else do you think red dresses have become so popular for women? Carrying in the color tradition, strawberries can also do wonders in the bedroom. Rich in antioxidants that benefit your heart and arteries, the fruits are also high in vitamin C, which along with antioxidants, has been linked to higher sperm counts in men--perfect for you ladies out there trying to start a family. Want to up the ante? Dip them in chocolate and double the fun and sexual intensity.

Champagne -
While it may not be a food, champagne is certainly a consumable that will get the party started. Unlike other alcoholic beverages that give off a crash and burn after effect, champagne is considered to be the perfect arousal drink. Experts because of the carbonation you don’t have to drink as much and you feel the effects a lot quicker. So ditch the red wine and pop champagne bottles and watch the fireworks go.
