Nicole Murphy and fiancé Michael Strahan have both been around the marriage block before so they’re in no rush to walk down the aisle.
Murphy, who's been engaged to the former NFL star for five years, has repeatedly been asked about the hold on the couple's nuptials, a question in which the model turned reality star scoffs at.
“I’m not under the pressure. It seems like everyone else is,” she told The Jasmine Brand. “Everyone’s like ‘You all together? What’s going on?’ How come I haven’t seen you post a picture of him?’ And I’m like, ‘It’s none of ya’ll’s business at this point.’ I’m good!”
As far as why he’s not featured on VH1’s “Hollywood Exes,” she simply said he has his own thing going on.
“No, you ain’t seeing Michael up there. No, I mean he has all this other stuff going on, he’s on 'The Kelly and Michael Show,' 'Good Morning America' ... he don’t need to be on no more shows,” she laughs.
Murphy spent 13 years married to Eddie Murphy and the duo have five children together. If there’s anything she’s learned, it’s this: “That I have a voice and don’t be afraid to be yourself and express yourself and ya know, be you.”
"It’s like now, I’m doing what I want to do," she continued. "I don’t want anything to hold me back from what I want to do now."
Murphy doesn't seem to be in a rush to get married because she's finally focusing on herself and no one can be mad at that.
Strahan covered the August issue of Ebony and said the couple’s relationship works for them.
He explained, “For us it’s key that we maintain normalcy. We have a great life. People can buy into their own celebrity, and that’s a dangerous thing.”
