Shemar Moore has had the luck (and the boyish good looks) of bagging celebrity beauties such as Halle Berry and Toni Braxton, but there was just one R&B songstress that he couldn't quite lock down.
At Wednesday's People Choice Awards, the "Criminal Minds" actor once again reminisced on his rejection from Alicia Keys (pre-Swizz Beatz) while hosting a listening party for "Soul Train." Moore told "Access Hollywood's" Shaun Robinson that the singer had no interest in the Hollywood heartthrob.
He recalled: "I was at a listening party and I was hosting Soul Train. I fell in love with her eyes. She played the piano and she had the cornrows, the voice. I was like 'she is the business.' So I went up to her and I got it together and I said, 'I don't know what your man situation is like, but when you're not working I'd love to take you out some time.'"
And that's when things went south.
Moore continued, "She basically looked at me and she went, 'Look here son. I respect your flirt game. But my man situation is handled.' And that is a true story."
No hard feeling though. Moore added that he was still a huge fan and wishes her all the best.
