The 'Party Girl' Braxton makes mixology her business and brand

Trina Braxton has most certainly earned her moniker as the “party girl” of the Braxton clan. Aside from her explosive pop single, “Party or Go Home,” the reality star and singer is now taking her party brand to a bar near you.

Braxton, who studied the trade of mixology, is a master mixologist and decided to match her passion and her business savvy with a new bartending service company called Bar Chix, which she launched in Atlanta a few months ago.

“When you go out to have drinks, there are a lot of guys who always have to have that one chick at the bar who is making the bomb drink. I wanted to feature female bartenders and put together something that I really love and enjoy with something that would really work,” Braxton tells Centric in an exclusive interview. “I wanted to develop a company where you have these premiere, licensed bartenders who know exactly what they’re doing.”

Bar Chix features beautiful women with impressive bartending skills - which is a match made in heaven for her mostly-male clientele. When you hire them, Braxton says, they take care of everything. “All you have to do is come and have fun."

But don’t go thinking this is a bartending version of Hooters. Trina says that while the Bar Chix ladies are sexy, they keep it strictly professional. “We’re not trying to hit on everybody there. We’re there to be premiere bartenders and you get what you pay for,” she said.

Braxton adds that at the top of next year, Bar Chix will be doing Youtube webisodes where they give tutorials on how to make special cocktails - something Braxton used to do for her fans called, “Trina Braxton’s 4 O’Clock Rock.”

But no worries. In case you can’t wait that long, Braxton gave Centric three of her favorite holiday cocktails for you to try out this Christmas.

Check it out:

Warmed Mulled Wine

“One thing that I do every year is called mulled wine. It’s a spiced wine. You put anise in there, as well as sugar, cinnamon, orange. Then you warm it. You don’t boil it, because you’ll boil out the alcohol content. You just want to warm it and put it in a ceramic pan, because if you put it in something steel or aluminum, it’ll get that metal-like taste and will completely ruin it. Put those ingredients together and warm it. It’s so delicious. Use red wine. I like to use blended wine with merlot and syrah. That’s usually the best because it’s not overly sweet or old. It’s something that’s good to just sit around and enjoy, especially in the cold winter because it’s nice and warm.”

Eggnog

“I love homemade eggnog with brandy.”

Port Wine

“I love warm port. If you just sit port out by the fireplace and just let it gradually warm up, it’s one of the best drinks ever. And if you put just a little lemon in it, oh my gosh, it will get your life together! This is for people who don’t really like robust, especially with eggnog. Some people don’t like distilled spirit. With port it’s sweet. It’s for the moscato lovers."
