Lenny Kravitz Designs A 'Big Sexy' Set [VIDEO]

What does one do in their spare time in between creating Grammy-winning sounds, cultivating an impressive movie career, producing musical projects for big-name stars and being just about the coolest dad on the planet? You build up a design firm, naturally.

Lenny Kravitz
has progressively made a name for himself in the design world with the establishment of Kravitz Design Inc. in 2003, with his visions adoring luxury hotel suites, collaborations with Swarovski chandeliers and designs on the upcoming Queen Latifah Show.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, it was the suggestion of executive producer Jada Pinkett Smith to utilize Kravitz's talents after seeing two luxury penthouses he designed at the SLS Hotel South Beach.

"We didn't want something too new that it would be outside of what would be relatable for the audience," said Pinkett. And that's just what Kravitz delivered.

The set no doubt has a modern feel, but is just warm and inviting enough for the Queen to sit atop her throne and entertain guests in a comfortable environment. And the small details matter; the stand-out staircase is decorated with 1,000 custom-made "Qs" and a braided-leather handrail.

"This is the first time Kravitz Design has created an environment for television, which makes it a very exciting project for us," Kravitz said earlier this year.

"The set reflects Latifah's personality and spirit and will be an inviting, comfortable space for her guests, studio audience and viewers. I never thought of designing for television but, I suppose growing up in a TV studio watching my mother has come full circle."
