Just because the Christmas holiday is nearing, it doesn’t mean you should take a break from your workout regimen. It’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking that because you plan on cheating on your healthy diet that you should take a vacation from the gym altogether. However, your upcoming holiday festivities is all the more reason to keep a disciplined mindset when it comes to your fitness.
For one, getting those last hard workout days out of the way will give you extra incentive, as you will have more wiggle room to cheat your diet - but not too much. However, it would be pretty sweet to be able to have that extra slice of cake without feeling too guilty. But if you want the reward, you have to do the work. Don’t use the holiday as an excuse to slack. Remember: no pain no gain.
Let the holiday be your motivation to get your workout on like never before. Besides, not working out before the holidays only sets you up for downfall, as chances are you won’t make it to the gym on Christmas Eve, Christmas or immediately after. Not to mention it will be twice as difficult to burn off all those calories. The longer you stay out of the gym, the harder it will feel on your body upon your return. So for you own sake, take these last few days to work your butt off. You’ll thank yourself later.
