EXCLUSIVE: Ruben Studdard ft. Lalah Hathaway - 'If This World Were Mine'

The former American Idol covers the Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell classic with a little help from the veteran songstress

and Lalah Hathaway on the same song?! Sounds like a dream. But that dream has now been filled and then more with the pair's cover of Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell's 1967 classic, "If This World Were Mine."

While their cover lends itself to Luther Vandross and Cheryl Lynn's 1982 take on the song, its clear that Studdard is trying at all costs to steer clear of any vocal stylings reminiscent of the late Vandross---who he's been musically compared to throughout most of his career. 

"If This World Were Mine" is the latest tune off his upcoming album Unconditional Love set for release of February 4.
