'The rumors are untrue. I do not have cancer.'

Janet Jackson is setting the record straight on rumors that claim she has throat cancer.

On Wednesday, the veteran singer released a two-minute video with lyrics from her song "The Great Forever" before addressing the claims. It was first reported by Radar Online that Jackson would undergo surgery to remove a tumor on her vocal cords that could be cancerous.

"Remember… believe it when you hear it from my lips," Jackson said. "The rumors are untrue. I do not have cancer. I'm recovering."

In December, Jackson announced she would be postponing her Unbreakable World Tour until spring due to surgery. She assured fans that the concert dates would be rescheduled.

"My doctors have approved my concerts as scheduled in Europe, and as I promised, the postponed shows will be rescheduled. Thank you for your prayers and love," she added.
