'Saved By The Bell' actress was hacked on several social media accounts

It turns out Lark Voorhies does not have lupus, but has become the victim of an online hacking plot that has forced her to shut down her official Twitter account.

A rep for the "Saved By The Bell" actress told PEOPLE: "Lark has never been diagnosed with lupus. It's upsetting her that people are coming out about it. She doesn't want to be perceived as someone faking an illness."

The statement comes after someone posing as Voorhies posted a lengthy message about the 41-year-old star being diagnosed with lupus. The post said she had been battling the chronic autoimmune disease since 2007 and it had drastically altered her appearance.

The message was also sent though her Twitter account.

The rep said Voorhies does not have an Instagram account and "somebody has hacked her Twitter account to the point she is shutting it down."

Before setting up a private Twitter account, Voorhies personally addressed the rumors, stating: "My accounts are continually being hacked by my ex husband. Please respect my privacy at this time during such hiatus until further notice! [...] I've never been diagnosed with Lupus. This is very upsetting to me and my heart goes out to those who are truly suffering."

Voorhies is currently going through a divorce with husband Jimmy Green, who she married in April in Las Vegas. She is said to have a restraining order against Green and has asked the media to refrain from speaking to him.
