Khloé Kardashian and her family have done their part to help nurse Lamar Odom back to health, a gesture that's been met with both praise and criticism from the general public. One person who wasn't too fond of the idea was Odom's close friend, NBA star Metta World Peace, who admits to being a little bitter toward the family.
In a recent interview with VladTV, detailed his friendship with Odom, which began during their days of playing basketball in Queens, New York as pre-teens. In reference to Odom's recent medical emergency, World Peace said he wasn't happy with anyone visiting Odom who didn't know him from before the fame.
"I was bitter toward every single one of his friends in LA without knowing the situation, because there were reports that my buddy isn’t going to make it," World Peace said, specifically making note of the Kardashians.
"[...] I didn't really know that he was still married to Khloé. I just wanted my buddy's children to be next to him and everything," he continued. "I took it personal. I still take it personal to this day."
Kardashian is said to still be by Odom's side as he recovers at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. On Friday (Nov. 6), the former NBA star celebrated his 36th birthday with a small party in his hospital room with sister-in-law Kim Kardashian and mother-in-law Kris Jenner, reports PEOPLE.
Sources say Kardashian got in contact with Odom's former teammate, Kobe Bryant, who will send a gift and connect with him on FaceTime. World Peace will also reportedly contact Odom through video chat.
