Video reveals tennis star's tale may have been overstated

Video footage capturing Serena Williams confronting a man who stole her cell phone reveals it may not have been as confrontational as some believed.

The tennis champion had previously shared the news on social media, stating that she had chased down the unidentified man after he swiped the device from an empty seat next to her at a Chinese restaurant.

"I jumped up, weaved my way in and out of the cozy restaurant (leaping over a chair or two) and chased him down," she wrote on Instagram, along with a photo of sporting a superwoman outfit.

"He began to run but I was too fast. (Those sprints came in handy) I was upon him in a flash!"

Turns out the video shows Williams' account didn't quite happen the way she said.

Surveillance video shows her calmly walking away from her dinner table and lightly jogging toward the man to confront him.

Williams says she took a more kind approach, asking him he had "accidentally" taken her phone. The man then claimed to have "grabbed the wrong phone."
