The popular entertainment site is on the singer's back -- again

Chris Brown is getting in front of a "bogus" new report from TMZ, which claims he's addicted to sizzurp (promethazine with codeine syrup and soda). The Soul Train Awards nominee has asked fans to dismiss the news, as he believes the popular entertainment site created the rumor to drive traffic.

According to the report, Brown's family believes his addiction has gotten worse over the last few weeks and they're worried he might lose custody of his one-year-old daughter, Royalty. During his custody battle, the singer did test positive for codeine, but a judge let him go because he had a prescription.

Hours before TMZ released the report, Brown took to Twitter to warn fans about the damaging story. He wrote:

"Tmz is about to run a bogus story tomorrow becuz they aren't getting any traffic. They called my publicist about some bullshit ass story. It's just sad. Now I'm letting y'all know it's bullshit! I got a great album coming, having a great time being a father, and also staying out the way! Ima grown man and I live my life on my terms."

After the news broke, Brown tweeted, "Media is so predictable now.. Lol. I'll be sure to send you your personal copy of my album."

Brown's history with TMZ has been anything but pleasant. In 2009, the site obtained pictures of Rihanna's bruised and battered face after his assault on his then-girlfriend. Earlier this year, TMZ also revealed Brown fathered a child outside of his relationship with Karrueche Tran, which immediately put an end to the romance.
