Oprah Winfrey has expanded her financial portfolio, buying a stake in Weight Watchers.
According to reports, Winfrey, 61, purchased a 10% stake ---6.4 million shares and being awarded options to buy 3.5 million more---in the storied weight loss company for $43.2 million.
The deal also includes an option for O “to acquire an additional 5% of the fully diluted shares.”
Word that Winfrey ---who according to Forbes is worth $3.1 billion--- took a stake in the company caused the company's stock to more than double to $13.92 a share.
The one-day stock spike made the mogul an estimated $70 million.
