If you let an alleged "source" tell it, "Empire" co-stars Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson are having major drama on set.
According to InTouch, the actors have been butting heads for quite some time and it's gotten to the point that Henson can't stand to be around the leading man.
"It's gotten so bad that Taraji can't be on set for more than 30 seconds without staring daggers at him," the source claims. "She's irritated by the pompous, bigheaded braggart that Terrence has become."
In past interviews, Henson said she refused to take on the role of Cookie Lyon unless Howard was involved in the show. The pair previously starred in the 2005 drama Hustle & Flow.
But, according to the insider, their professional relationship has broken down and the tension is high off camera.
"In the beginning, Taraji was the key supporter and apologist for his behavior, but as his arrogance increased, she began to get annoyed," the source continued. The insider added that show producers are loving the alleged rift between Henson and Howard, as it "prompts some amazing, volatile scenes between them" and "the animosity is working to the show's advantage."
With the rumor running wild, a rep for Henson addressed the reports, saying Henson and Howard "are the best of friends and professional colleagues ... always."
