Bill Cosby now faces possible criminal charges in relation to an alleged 2008 incident at the Playboy Mansion in which a then-18-year-old model claimed she was sexually assaulted.
On Thursday, the LAPD formally turned over its results from the investigation to the Los Angeles District Attorney's office, reports Deadline. Chloe Goins stepped forward with her allegations last December, claiming the comedian drugged her while attending a party at the mansion. She alleges she woke up in a bed with a half-naked Cosby hovering over her as he sucked her toes and pleasured himself.
Unlike dozens of other claims against Cosby, Goins' allegations put her within California's statute of limitations for criminal charges.
"It is under review by the Sex Crimes division. We don't talk about time, we don't talk about deadline," said Jane Robison of the D.A.'s office. She declined to give a timetable on when the office will complete its review.
Cosby has yet to respond to these most recent developments, but his lawyers have previously denied any wrongdoing. Sources claim the LAPD was given detailed information to prove that Cosby wasn't in Los Angeles, but rather on the East Coast, when the incident allegedly occurred.
