VH1 has ordered another season of the reality series

It turns out the rumors were false-- "Basketball Wives LA" isn't getting the boot. In fact, VH1 has renewed the reality series for a fifth season.

The network announced the news Wednesday, citing that strong ratings helped propel them into the No. 1 cable network on average in the Sunday 9 p.m. time period between women 18-34. The show's success is no doubt due to its cast-- Draya Michele, Malaysia Pargo, Jackie Christie, Brandi Maxiell, Mehgan James, Patrice Curry and Angel Brinks (as well as friends of the show Shaunie O'Neal and Tami Roman)-- and their seemingly endless drama.

Rumors had been circulating about a possible re-casting or cancelation, but the show has fought to see another season.

The season four finale airs Oct. 4, followed by the reunion special on Oct. 11.
