There seems to be a bit of confusion on how Terrence Howard's big, fat "Empire" check is getting paid out. With his ex-wife Michelle Ghent on his back about spousal support, she could get rich off his hard-earned cash.
According to TMZ, folks over at Twentieth Century Fox aren't exactly sure how to cut the check because Ghent believes she's entitled to a percentage of Howard's television earnings. The couple's settlement agreement orders Howard to pay 21 percent of anything he made over $62,500 in the first three months of this year.
Three episodes of "Empire" were shot this year and Ghent claims Howard earns $125,000 per episode.
Ghent has asked Fox to deduct the amount she's owed from Howard's check and send it to her. But Howard is asking for the full amount, as he believes the agreement is invalid.
Fox is now asking a judge to determine the payee, once and for all.
The "Empire" check is just a small problem in a much larger issue between Howard and Ghent. The pair have been at odds since their divorce in February 2011 with disputes over spousal support and claims of physical abuse.
