With the death of Bobbi Kristina Brown comes talk of who will get a piece of her reported $20 million inheritance left behind by her late mother Whitney Houston.
TMZ claims to have gotten a look at Houston's will, which will determine how the fortune will be split up due to unfortunate circumstances. The will reportedly details Bobbi Kristina's trust that went into effect when she turned 21 (she received a tenth of Houston's estate).
Bobbi Kristina was set to get an additional sixth of the balance when she turned 25, but her untimely death has left money on the table. TMZ reports:
"Whitney's will provided that if Bobbi Kristina died before reaching 25, all the money would go to the people Whitney designated. Translation, Bobbi Kristina had no authority to give away 9/10 of Whitney's fortune.
As for who Whitney designated ... mother Cissy and brothers Michael and Gary. The will also gives Bobby Brown a cut, but there's an issue. The will is worded to 'my husband, Robert B. Brown.' Obviously, the will was drafted before they divorced in 2007, and the issue is whether Bobby still qualifies since he is no longer her husband.
According to the law of New Jersey, where the will was drafted, Bobby will NOT get the money because being Whitney's husband is a qualifier which he no longer meets."
Before Bobbi Kristina's passing, her father Bobby Brown and aunt Pat Houston were appointed as her co-guardians in relation to her "care and medical needs." It is unclear if they will have any involvement in handling Bobbi Kristina's inheritance.
