An autopsy has been set for Bobbi Kristina Brown to determine the cause of death of the 22-year-old daughter of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown.
The Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office announced Monday it will evaluate what led to the death, although the case will present some issues. The office says the time elapsed from her Jan. 31 drowning to her death on Sunday (July 26) will "complicate" its effort to reconstruct events.
"Interpretation of autopsy findings and other information will also be challenging," the office said in the statement. "However, an autopsy could be helpful to address questions which may arise about the cause of her unresponsiveness and eventual death."
The office added, "The Roswell Police Department continues its investigation into the circumstances preceding and surrounding the time of the original incident leading to her death."
Bobbi Kristina, 22, died Sunday at Peachtree Christian Hospice in Duluth, Georgia after spending nearly six months in a medically induced coma and in hospice care. A police report described her death as a drowning after she was found unresponsive in a bathtub in her Atlanta-area home.
The medical examiner did not release a timeframe for the autopsy, but said additional lab testing could take several weeks.
