Bill Cosby's wife is riding with her husband until the wheels fall off of his already severely damaged career. Sources say Camille Cosby was well aware of the comedian's infidelity, but believes the women consented to drugs and sex.
"Camille still doesn’t believe that Bill provided drugs and had sex with women without their consent," said a source employed by the family. "She’s well aware of his cheating, but she doesn’t believe that her husband is a rapist."
Last week brought the unsealing of documents from Bill's 2005 sexual assault lawsuit against a Temple University employee who accused the 78-year-old star of drugging and raping her. Bill admitted in a testimony that he's drugged women for sex.
Still, that hasn't moved Camille to consider divorce. Another source added, "[Mrs. Cosby is] a proud, dignified but stubborn woman. You can say that she’s standing by her husband, but really, the more people stand against him, the more she perceives it as an affront to her and all that she’s done to make him a star."
During a crisis meeting last week, Camille allegedly demanded that Bill's team "get back out in front of this" and noted that people were jumping ship.
But Camille is apparently standing strong. A source says she "stopped being embarrassed long ago" about Bill's affairs and is upset that the private infidelities keeping playing out in the public eye.
Since the release of the unsealed documents, neither Bill nor Camille have spoken on the matter.
