Nick Gordon has a target on his back for what is believed to be his involvement in the drowning of Bobbi Kristina Brown, but the 25-year-old has placed the blame on high stress levels and substance abuse.
According to TMZ, a member of Bobby Brown's family recorded Gordon on Feb. 21, just weeks after Bobbi Kristina was found unresponsive in a bathtub in her Atlanta-area home. Gordon was unaware that he was being taped (the call was legal because Georgia is a one-party state) while giving his version of events of the tragic day.
"Nick says, 'I'll tell you the honest truth, Krissy, she was under a lot of stress and we were all doing drugs and you know, all, all drinking, bro.'
And then he said this: 'She just did too much man. She, listen, listen bro. I will officially stay from bath tubs forever, I'll tell you that.'
He then rails on those who think Bobbi Kristina's injuries prove he tried to kill her, saying, 'When Krissy wakes up she'll tell the truth to everybody. Everybody will feel stupid as f-ck... You know Krissy got in an accident 2 days before this happened and the man is in critical condition right now.'
He then warns the family, saying, 'If they take her off that life support, the police are going to have to take me down bro.'"
Gordon is currently being sued by Bobbi Kristina's estate for $10 million, as he stands accused of physically abusing her and stealing money from her inheritance.
He also remains a person of interest as the case has been transferred from the Roswell Police Department to Fulton County District Attorney's Office in what could turn into a murder investigation.
