Cynthia Bailey believes the show must go on with or without Nene Leakes starring on "The Real Housewives of Atlanta."
Leakes announced her departure from the reality series last week to the surprise of many, but Bailey says she knew the moment would come sooner or later. Still, she's confident the show will remain successful without one of its brightest stars.
"Well the show has never been about one person. It's just not what makes it work," Bailey told E! News. "Sometimes you gotta change it up and mix it up. I look forward to a really great drama-filled season."
She added: "I wasn't super surprised because I used to be very close with NeNe so I knew that at some point, she wanted to do other things and rightfully so because I think she has had a great run on the show. In my opinion, she will always be the original Atlanta Housewife and I wish her well."
As far as rumors of a new housewife (there have been whispers of actress Kim Fields joining the show), Bailey says she's just happy to get some fresh meat to shake things up.
"I am just excited for someone to come in who is a spit fire, someone who is not just gonna come in and check things out," she said. "I don't know who yet but whoever you are, please audition for the Real Housewives of Atlanta. We need you!"
