Ross blames the seemingly "shady" moment on her nerves

There's been a lot of shade thrown Tyga's way for releasing subpar music and allegedly dating a minor, 17-year-old Kylie Jenner. But don't expect any of that said shade to come from Tracee Ellis Ross-- she just doesn't roll that way.

While hosting Sunday night's BET Awards, many believed the "Black-ish" star was being a little funny while announcing Chris Brown and Tyga to the stage.

"The next performers are equally a triple threat-- young, sexy, and black. Please welcome," Ross began, pausing to laugh and give a side-eye.

She continued, flatly, "Tyga and Chris Brown."

Online commenters took the moment as shade toward the performers, particularly Tyga. As a clip of the segment began making its way around the Internet and sites picked up the story, Ross stepped in to kill the noise. She wrote on Instagram:

"Absolutely not thowing [sic] shade at [Tyga] (I'm not the shade throwing type) as u might remember from my TMurda 'further exploration' video I have trouble saying his name right & I was nervous. I was hosting a live show. I was fighting in my head cause I was so scared I would say it the wrong way. That would have been awful. Saw him as he came off stage and there was nothing but love You rock Tyga. #BETAwards."

And there you have it, folks.
