With a devastating update on Bobbi Kristina Brown's condition comes the news of the Fulton County District Attorney's Office taking over what could be a murder case.
As previously reported, the 22-year-old daughter of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown was moved to hospice on Wednesday as her health continues to deteriorate. Her aunt Pat Houston said that Bobbi Kristina "is now in God's hands," but it's widely assumed that she doesn't have much time left to live.
The Roswell Police Department opened up a criminal investigation in February, just weeks after Bobbi Kristina was found unresponsive in a bathtub in her Atlanta-area home. As the story takes another tragic turn, the Fulton County D.A. is now taking over the case and making note of Bobbi Kristina's longtime boyfriend, Nick Gordon, as a person of interest.
"The Roswell Police Department has forwarded its investigative file to our Office," Fulton County D.A. Paul L. Howard, Jr. told Us Weekly. "In view of the new circumstances regarding the health status of Bobbi Kristina Brown, we will be reviewing the case with greater interest. An announcement regarding a charging decision, if any, will be made at the appropriate time."
Authorities found Bobbi Kristina with bruises on her face and body at the time of the drowning and immediately began to question Gordon about the matter. He claimed the marks came from his attempt at CPR.
Bobbi Kristina's estate is currently suing Gordon for $10 million, claiming he physically abused her and took money from her inheritance. Neither Gordon nor his attorneys have responded to the suit.
