Here's what the cast of 'The Wayans Bros.' has been up to lately.
Shawn and Marlon Wayans are two of the youngest first generation Wayans so it makes perfect sense that the duo would tag team for White Chicks and their show The Wayans Bros.
From 1995-1999 we watched the brother’s wacky adventures and drama that ensued at Pops' diner. The Wayans Bros. marathon premieres today (Dec. 24) on Centric at 9 a.m. EST. It’s only right that we tell you where they are now.
Don’t sleep on the Wayans family’s ability to get this bread. This year Marlon starred in the films A Haunted House and The Heat. He also had roles in the TV series Second Generation Wayans and Legit. His role as Malcolm in A Haunted House 2 is returning in 2014 and is currently in post-production.
Shawn has been a little less active than his baby brother Marlon. He’s rumored to play Jonas in the 2014 flick Ambitions. This year he played Jason in the TV mini-series Venus Honey Trap. 2009’s Dance Flick was the last movie he produced and wrote. We wonder if he has a surprise in the bag.
Witherspoon is one of our favorite TV and film dads. Pops was one of the highlights of The Wayans Bros. because he was consistently funny without trying. On Centric’s very own The First Family he plays Grandpa Alvin. He’s also the voice of S. Ward Smith in Randy Cunningham: 9th Grade Ninja. He also has roles in Bring Me The Head Of Lance Henriksen and Mr. Doula. We’re happy to see Pops still getting roles.
Anna Maria Horsford
If you didn’t notice, Dee (Anna Maria Horsford) and Pops (John Witherspoon) were Craig’s parents in Friday. Although the two aren’t married or dating in The Wayans Bros. the chemistry was just the same. Horsford stars in Tyler Perry’s A Madea Christmas, which is in theaters now.
Tasker, better known as Lou Malino on the show, has kept a pretty low profile since leaving the show in 1995. She took a small role in the 1997 comedy White Lies and and did some voiceover work for "Grand Theft Auto 2." The Boston-born actress now resides in New York with her husband.
Paula Jai Parker
Parker etched out a nice little career after The Wayans Bros. Just a few of her television credits include Snoops, Touched By An Angel, CSI: Miami and the Disney favorite The Proud Family as Trudy Proud. On the big screen, Parker has appeared in Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood (coincidentely with Shawn and Marlon Wayans), Woo, Why Do Fools Fall In Love, Idlewild, the upcoming drama Life of a King with Cuba Gooding Jr. and more.
Lewis has spent most of his time post Wayans Bros. on television with roles on Friends, Lizzy McGuire, Yes, Dear, Scrubs, The Big C and more. His long run as Mr. Moseby on Disney Channel's The Suite Life of Zack and Cody introduced him to a new generation of fans.
Dubois didn't slow down after Good Times and she certainly didn't slow down after The Wayans Bros. Following her role as Grandma Ellington, the Emmy-winning actress went on to appear in The Steve Harvey Show, One On One, Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle, Cold Case and The PJs. She is also the co-founder of the Pan African Film & Arts Festival, a community activist and singer; she released her album Hidden Treasures in 2008.
Jermaine "Huggy" Hopkins
After The Wayans Bros., Hopkins took a few roles here and there-- including Law & Order: SVU-- but was arrested in 2011 when he was caught trying to purchase 200 pounds of weed. Officials claim he already had 100 pounds of weed on him. Hopkins managed to avoid five years in jail for illegal control of enterprise and struck a plea deal that only cost him 30 days in jail.
Be sure to tune in to Centric at 9 a.m. EST to catch The Wayans Bros.
