These five ladies served some serious fashion and their hair was the cherry on top

The hair gods were busy at work at Monday night's Met Gala.

While fashion was the name of the game, we couldn't help but go gaga over a few hairstyles that brought last night's looks together. From bodacious braids to a high ponytail and soft waves, there were five ladies who caught our attention and gave us a serious case of hair envy.

Take a look at our picks below and let us know your favorites!

Gabby really hit the mark with this look. The "Being Mary Jane" actress traded in a longer length for this super cute razored bob cut. Celebrity hairstylist Larry Sims said he achieved the stye by cutting it shorter in the back with elongated tips in the front while layering it throughout. The center part and soft waves framed her flawless face and was a refreshing change for the star.

Mama showed up and showed out. When we weren't busy obsessing over her Internet-breaking Givenchy gown, we couldn't stop looking at her very blonde, very high ponytail. With sleek edges and cascading curls, the hairstyle added an exclamation point to an already daring look. It might not be practical for everyday wear, but in this scenario, it was absolutely perfect.

With cornrows reaching down her back, Ms. Dunn was all face at last night's event. And what a beautiful sight it was. Hairstylist Lacy Redway said she was inspired by the cut outs and crochet lacing on Jourdan's Burberry dress. She mimicked the pattern by braiding the cornrows on a diagonal and finished the look in a simple, yet stylish, low ponytail.

Janelle, it's your world, we're just living in it. The 29-year-old singer stuck with her usual black and white ensemble, but spiced things up with a style known as the WondaBraid. Hair guru Caprice Green says she was inspired by actress Zhang Ziyi from Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon when creating the look, which featured a braided faux hawk and a super thick braid. Part chic, part rockstar-- all-around amazing.

Zendaya knows how to command a red carpet with her ever-changing hair, and last night was no exception. On Monday, the singer/actress went long with waist-length tresses and soft, flowing curls. She capped off the look with a Chinese-inspired tiara that beautifully complimented her custom Fausto Puglisi gown. Coleman definitely held court as the night's pretty, pretty princess.
