Summer Pieces You Should Save for Fall

Just when you were starting to sweat that Fall shopping bill...

Around this time, you may find yourself pressed to start pulling out the fall clothes. Not because it’s getting cool, but because you want to make sure you have everything you need. While doing so, you could find yourself ready to stock up on fall fashion items that will soon hit the stores. But not so fast.

There may be a couple of items in your summer wardrobe that you can easily transfer over to fall, saving you a few bucks.

Your favorite crop top

Don’t put that away just yet. While the fall weather will accrue cooler temperatures, your crop top will be a perfect layering piece for the season. We all know that layering is the key to staying cool enough for warmer fall days and warm enough for cooler fall nights. Utilize the crop top with a nice pair of wool high waisted pants or a midi skirt, and throw a pair of opaque tights on with the outfit.

The maxi dress

Another simple, yet overlooked summer piece we usually love is the maxi dress. Even if your maxi dress is sleeveless, the long length will lend itself to the fall season. Opt to put on textured tights underneath, a chic pump or bootie and a lightweight jean or motorcycle jacket on top.

The mini skirt

Easy, again. Add a chic turtleneck top, trendy tights and your favorite shoe to the mix and you’re good to go. Remember, you can do this with a jean, leather or even tennis skirt.

The super flowy tank tops

You probably stocked up on plenty for the summer to keep you cool and cute. But, keep these out for fall. They’re perfect for layering. Add a sweater over the tank for that relaxed yet corporate chic appeal.

The midi skirt

We love to see a midi skirt with a rich hued tight and a cropped sweater. Even if the material is a little lighter than you expected, you’ll feel warmth from the longer length of the skirt.
