Did Instagram Ban the Curvy Hashtag?

Say so long to the #curvy hashtag

If you’re looking to hashtag #Curvy under one of your fabulous Instagram pictures, you may be out of luck. In an effort to keep images that are nude or overtly sexual off of the Gram, the company is banning the #curvy hashtag. A rep for Instagram told ETOnline that we should note, “the block has nothing to do with the term ‘curvy’ itself”. Unfortunately, #curvy was being used to promote nudity content and Instagram is trying to do their best to keep content like this away.

Some bloggers and real women are trying to keep the promotion of positive curvy body images floating on Instagram using the hashtags #BringCurvyBack and other variations.

We have to give kudos to Instagram for trying to keep inappropriate content off the Gram, but we’re hoping that they do essentially bring back the #curvy hashtag.
