Twenty years in the game and Naomi Campbell is still booking gigs and slaying for the gods.
Campbell is not only one of the GOATs of modeling, but she also stars in a couple of episodes of Lee Daniels’ hit series “Empire.” Next up she'll star in the upcoming Richard Pryor biopic.
During her recent visit to the “Meredith Vieira Show” Campbell was asked about the new-age models who get their come up from Instagram. And Ms. Campbell did not mince her words.
“It’s amazing, I mean good luck to them,” she told the talk show host. “I just feel like my generation of women, like Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista, Christy Turlington, Claudia [Schiffer], we had to earn our stripes and take our stepping-stones to get to where we have gotten, to accomplish what we have achieved to this date.”
When asked if she was bothered that Instagram is the new claim to fame for models, Campbell did not bite her tongue.
“I kind of feel like, my god. We’ve worked so hard and we are still working at it. Then it just comes like that for them. But I sometimes believe easy come, easy go. I am actually grateful for the way I had my career. I wouldn’t have it any other way; so that’s for them, this is [for] me,” she concluded.
