The singer and actress covers ESSENCE's September Fashion issue

Jill Scott is showing off her curves on the cover of ESSENCE’s September Fashion issue.

Jilly from Philly is rocking a hip-hugging Ekineyo bodycon dress with a short platinum blonde ‘do. The “Crown Royal” singer has seemingly been hitting the gym judging by her banging new body.

Scott is fresh off the set of Get On Up, the James Brown biopic where she plays the soul singer’s second wife, Deidre “Dee Dee” Jenkins. Currently, she’s working on her fifth album that has yet to be titled.

But outside of work, she’s wrapped in love from her new beau and busy being a mommy to her five-year-old son. Scott is feeling loved, confident, looking fine as wine and it shows.

“My only job is to be happy," she says. "So for everybody that cares about me and is not trying to be all up in a celebrity's business, just know that I'm happy. My son is happy. We enjoy our lives."

When she’s not with her “two men” as she calls them, she’s cooking up some heat in the studio for her forthcoming project, but she says it may be a while before fans get some new music.

"I'm a wood-burning stove," says Scott. "It's a slow brew."

Scott recently received an honorary doctorate from Temple University and snagged a role in the forthcoming film With This Ring alongside Regina Hall and Eve. Jill is winning all across the board.
