The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) has announced that the 26-year-old star will receive this year's Fashion Icon Award for her smart and fearless choices on the red carpet and beyond.
"We are proud to present Rihanna with the CFDA Fashion Icon Award for her impact on the industry as fashion's most exciting ambassador in recent memory," said Steven Kolb, CEO of the CFDA.
She follows in the footsteps of Lady Gaga, Iman, Kate Moss and Nicole Kidman who previously received the honor.
There are likely to be no complaints about Rihanna's newest accolade as she has proved herself to be a force within fashion. Since she blasted onto the music scene in 2005, the stylish songstress has locked down endorsements with Armani, River Island, MAC, Balmain and more, while setting numerous trends followed by a legion of fans.
Rihanna will be recognized June 2 at Alice Tully Hall in New York City along with Bethann Hardison who will receive the 2014 Founders Award, the organization's highest honor.
