The 'Happy' singer auctions off fashion meme to restaurant chain

It looks like Arby’s is getting its hat back after all.

Weeks after the restaurant chain jokingly tweeted Pharrell to return his Grammy Awards staple piece, it is now the proud owner of the Vivienne Westwood hat after an eBay bid for $40,100.

According to a tweet on its official Twitter, Arby's confirmed it purchased the hat - which strikingly resembles its logo - in the auction that started in late February after Pharrell’s red carpet look became an Internet meme. Proceeds from the auction benefit the singer-producer’s From One Hand to Another educational nonprofit.

After Pharrell thanked the buyer of the hat without naming who actually made the purchase, Arby’s tweeted him back, “@Pharrell You're welcome. We're HAPPY to support a great cause & get our hat back. Good luck at the #Oscars tonight!”

More recently, Pharrell put anothet fashion trend on the map while on the Academy Awards red carpet when he wore shorts with his tuxedo.

Gotta love Pharrell’s personal style and creativity.
