The First Lady rocks an intricate Carolina Herrera gown to welcome French President

Michelle Obama’s fashion choices tend to cause a frenzy partly because she’s the FLOTUS, but mostly because she’s stylishly fly.

For Tuesday night’s State Dinner with French President Francois Hollande, the elegant First Lady chose Venezuelan-American designer Carolina Herrera, and the liberty blue and black gown was a sight to see.

President Obama
looked handsome in his black tux, but his wife was the true show stopper. The intricate design had a black hand-sewn beaded and embroidered top over a blue silk faille corset and a blue silk faille long skirt with inverted pleat and train. To top of the dress was a wide velvet belt detail.

The First Lady didn’t rock any neck pieces, but did complete the look with Sutra earrings. Stunning!
